| Silo Feeding, Aerations and Extraction System |
The main factor taken into consideration while developing the design of the Storage Silos is to ensure
that the Silo gives:
u High Reliability u High Extraction efficiency.
u Minimum Specific Power Consumption. u Continuous Operation
u Low Operating Cost. u Low Maintenance Cost.
u High Storage Capacity. u Ease in Civil Construction.
u High Blending efficiency. u Controlled Flow.
DESCRIPTION OF STORAGE SILOS.
Storage Silos diameter ranges between 5 to 26 m. The material is fed to the silo by a belt bucket elevator to keep power consumption low. The top of the silo is provided with all standard features such as manholes, over and under pressure valve, level indicators, silo pilot and bag filter.
The Silo bottom has air slides of special design & is divided into number of segments each with 8 to 10 deg. sloping towards their respective outlets. Generally two sections are aerated at a time. rotary blowers supply air to the aeration boxes at a pressure of 8000 mm Wg. The air is distributed via a pipe system.
From the silo outlets which slopes at appx. 15o the material passes via flow control gates to the collecting bin through air slides. The airslides have blowers of suitable sizes. The collecting bin air sliders are aerated by rotary blower. A bag filter is provided for venting of the extraction equipment like Air Slide, Bin etc. The collecting bin can be with one or more flow control gates. EEL flow gates close quickly and regulate the rate of flow to the packers or bulk loading spout as per the project design requirements. Both electrically & pneumatically actuated flow control gates are available.
